About the Director

The Canadian Institute for Craniosacral Therapy

Over the last 20+ years, Christy has taken Upledger courses, studied Craniosacral Therapy with different Osteopaths in Ontario and Quebec and also attended classes with European Osteopaths. Through these extensive training courses and studying, Christy has also developed some of her own techniques which have proven to be more effective in treating conditions than other previously used techniques. Christy continues to learn from other practitioners. There is always something to learn.

Christy Young began her career in health by returning to college in 2000, attending the Massage Therapy Program at Sir Sanford Fleming College. Immediately on graduating in 2002, she began taking courses in Craniosacral Therapy. It was at this time that she began her discovery and now lifelong passion, with this remarkable therapy.

In 2003, Christy returned to Fleming College as an Instructor in the Massage Therapy program and taught for a few years. She left teaching to focus on her clinical work and Craniosacral Therapy.

In 2010, Christy returned to school once again, this time for Osteopathy. She attended the Southern Ontario College of Osteopathy. Again she studied Craniosacral Therapy with another Osteopath/Physician. After graduation, she joined the faculty and began teaching Craniosacral Therapy.

Christy left to focus on treating clients but this time specializing in Vertiginous disorders and later post concussive disorders, all while continuing to treat those with the most complex of medical conditions and pain. At this time she designed her own courses and began teaching Craniosacral Therapy.

It is with this knowledge and experience that The Canadian Institute for Craniosacral Therapy has been formed. The courses are written so that each student can get the maximum knowledge and skills to immediately enter in to this phenomenal work. Each are taught how to treat safely within their skill set. If there are alternate ways of doing techniques they will be taught, giving students options that work best for them and their clients.

All of the courses are well researched and planned with the most up to date knowledge and techniques. The courses are kept small so that each individual gets personal attention from the instructor. Relevant anatomy and conditions are included as well as technique so that it all makes sense.
